Chief Executive Officer

Thierry Van Nieuwenhove joined Quotient Sciences in October 2023. He has an extensive track record in the pharma/CDMO services industry spanning over 26 years, with experience across small molecules and biologics. 

Prior to joining Quotient Sciences, Thierry was CEO at ABL Inc and held various senior leadership roles in the CDMO industry, including as the President of the Synthesis business unit at Novasep, Global Head of Business Development at Lonza, and CEO of Minakem, the CDMO and API manufacturing division of Minafin Group. 

Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Des Glass joined Quotient Sciences in April 2022 and brings over two decades of senior financial leadership across multinational, publicly listed, and high‑growth organizations. 

Prior to Quotient Sciences, Des served as Group CFO at RWS Holdings plc, the world’s leading provider of technology localisation and language services, where he helped accelerate global expansion through strategic acquisitions and operational alignment. He also spent nine years as CFO of GAN plc, where he helped guide the business from a fast‑moving technology start‑up to a successful AIM flotation and expanded its operations across the US and Europe. His earlier career began at Deloitte and also included senior finance roles at Rodale, Primedia, and ABC Inc in the US.

Des is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and holds an MBA from Imperial College London.

Non-Executive Chairman

Wayne Hewett is an industry veteran and dedicated Senior Advisor to Permira, bringing more than three decades of board and leadership experience to Quotient Sciences. 

Wayne presently serves as Chairman of Cambrex, a global CDMO, and sits as part of the Board of Directors for companies including The Home Depot, Wells Fargo, UPS, and Lytx.

Non-Executive Director

Dimitrios focuses on investment opportunities in the Healthcare sector.

Prior to joining Permira, he worked for Onex for three years, where he was in charge of Healthcare investments in Europe. Prior to that, he spent nine years with BC Partners.

Dimitrios holds a Master of Science in Corporate Finance from Bocconi University, Italy, and has an MBA from Harvard Business School, USA.

Non‑Executive Director

Ian Shott CBE FREng is a highly experienced life sciences executive, entrepreneur and board adviser with over 35 years’ leadership experience across the global pharmaceutical, biotechnology and chemical engineering sectors.

Ian was the co‑founder and Executive Chair of Arcinova, a UK‑based pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO), which was acquired by Quotient Sciences in 2021. Ian joined the Quotient Sciences Board as a Non‑Executive Director in March 2023 and continues to provide strategic advice to the business. Ian bought a majority position in Ingenza in 2022 and is the Chairman and strategic leader of this Engineering Biology Specialist CDMO.

In addition, Ian is Executive Chair of Shott Trinova, a specialist advisory and investment firm focused on supporting high‑growth technology‑driven life sciences businesses. Earlier in his career, he founded Excelsyn, a pharmaceutical development company that was sold to AMRI in 2010, and held senior executive and board‑level roles at multinational organisations including AstraZeneca, Lonza and Rhodia, working across the UK, Europe and the United States.

Ian has played a prominent role in shaping the UK life sciences and engineering landscape. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a former President of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, and previously chaired the UK Government’s Leadership Forum for Industrial Biotechnology. He has also served on the Governing Board of Innovate UK and holds visiting professorships at the Universities of Oxford, Nottingham and Newcastle.

Ian was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to chemical engineering and the life sciences.
