Chief Executive Officer

Thierry Van Nieuwenhove joined Quotient Sciences in October 2023. He has an extensive track record in the pharma/CDMO services industry spanning over 26 years, with experience across small molecules and biologics. 

Prior to joining Quotient Sciences, Thierry was CEO at ABL Inc and held various senior leadership roles in the CDMO industry, including as the President of the Synthesis business unit at Novasep, Global Head of Business Development at Lonza, and CEO of Minakem, the CDMO and API manufacturing division of Minafin Group. 

Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Des Glass joined Quotient Sciences in April 2022 and brings over two decades of senior financial leadership across multinational, publicly listed, and high‑growth organizations. 

Prior to joining Quotient Sciences, Des served as Group CFO at RWS Holdings plc, the world’s leading provider of technology localisation and language services, where he helped accelerate global expansion through strategic acquisitions and operational alignment. He also spent nine years as CFO of GAN plc, where he helped guide the business from a fast‑moving technology start‑up to a successful AIM flotation and expanded its operations across the US and Europe. His earlier career began at Deloitte and included senior finance roles at Rodale, Primedia, and ABC while based in the US.

Des is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and holds an MBA from Imperial College London.

Chief Scientific Officer

As the leader of Quotient Sciences' scientific teams and drug development consultants, Dr. Andrew (Andy) Lewis is responsible for driving efficiency and innovation within our scientific organization, both to better serve our customers and drive growth for the Company.

Andy has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and drug delivery industry and is a member of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Scientists of Great Britain. Additionally, Andy has served on the board of directors of the Controlled Release Society, most recently as secretary.

Prior to joining Quotient Sciences, Andy was Director of Novel Drug Delivery Technologies at Ipsen. He holds a Ph.D. in Tissue Engineering and a Bachelor of Pharmacy, both from the University of Nottingham.

Chief Operating Officer and Site Head at Quotient Sciences - Nottingham

Denise (Den) Sutton has been with the business since 1999, when the company was known as Pharmaceutical Profiles, a spin out from the University of Nottingham. Since that time, she has held many roles within the company spanning operations, project management, and change management.

Den is a graduate of the University of Leeds, with a BSc and PhD in Biochemistry, and of the University of Nottingham, where she obtained her MBA.

Chief Strategy Officer

With over 27 years of global experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Matt has held leadership roles spanning business development, marketing, and corporate strategy in CRO/CDMO businesses.

Matt has a keen interest in early clinical research and has been instrumental in advancing Quotient Sciences’ capabilities in this area.

Chief Business Officer

Eric Bironneau brings over two decades of commercial leadership experience to the company, including serving as Vice President, Global Sales & Business Development at Axplora and Novasep.

As Chief Business Officer, Eric has responsibility for Quotient Sciences’ commercial organization of drug product, clinical, and Translational Pharmaceutics® commercial lines, as well as for Quotient Sciences’ strategic partnerships.

Chief Compliance Officer

Simon Lee joined Quotient Sciences in May 2002 and has over 40 years of experience in in healthcare, drug delivery, and pharmaceutical services. His expertise spans all phases of clinical development as well as operations, regulatory affairs, quality, and management. 

As Chief Compliance Officer, Simon has global responsibility for the quality assurance, regulatory, legal and insurance functions at Quotient Sciences. Simon has extensive interactions with the UK and EU regulatory bodies and is a member of several industry groups representing Quotient Sciences and the Phase 1 sector, including The European CRO Federation (EUCROF).

Prior to joining Quotient Sciences, Simon worked in operational and clinical development positions at Amarin Development AB, Ethical Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Napp Laboratories, and Smith & Nephew.

Chief People Officer

Kelly Rhys-Jones shapes Quotient Sciences' people strategy, working closely with the CEO and executive leadership to oversee the full colleague lifecycle, from hiring and onboarding to development and retention across the company's UK and international locations.

With over two decades of experience spanning the oil and gas, banking, and pharmaceutical sectors, Kelly has led transformative HR initiatives using an approach that is grounded in collaboration and strategic foresight. She has been instrumental in driving organizational change, supporting leaders through complex transitions, and fostering a culture of agility and innovation. 

Known for her ability to deliver results while maintaining a people-first ethos, Kelly continues to champion initiatives that enhance employee wellbeing, employer branding, and leadership development.

Managing Director - Arcinova

Dr. Christian Dowdeswell is an experienced pharmaceutical services executive with 30 years of experience in the CDMO sector, from early clinical phases through to commercial. His career most notably includes a decade at Lonza in leadership roles. Today, Christian is Managing Director of Arcinova, A Quotient Sciences Company. 

Christian has a strong track record of delivering customer value, aligning service capability with customer needs. Additionally, he has a keen interest in innovation and has launched or developed service offerings that use new technology to address customer problems.

Christian is a former scientist with a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Teesside, and he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
