Quotient Sciences has been shortlisted for Best Use of AI in Clinical Development & Trial Innovation at the Scrip Awards 2026.
This new award category in the Scrip Awards 2026 seeks to reward AI innovation in tasks such as improving clinical trial design, site selection and recruitment, identifying responders, reducing protocol burden and improving operational performance.
Finalists in the category include Quotient Sciences’ AI-enabled formulation development, along with:

- Cytel's AI-powered R Coding Assistant within its East Horizon platform
- Fortrea’s Intelligent Technology (FIT): AI-Powered Clinical Trial Intelligence Ecosystem

AI-enabled formulation entered clinical testing in May
Earlier this year, Quotient Sciences set out to develop a formulation that achieves a target pharmacokinetic profile faster than conventional methods using a proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm to select modified-release formulation compositions and doses during the trial.
The clinical study used a generic drug selected for its established safety record and extensive published data. It was chosen to test the algorithm, not as a development candidate, and Quotient Sciences has no plans to progress it as a product.
Recently, an interim data report showed that the algorithm learned that relationship quickly and accurately, reaching our preset target within three dosing periods.
Dosing in the trial continues, and Quotient Sciences will report full data when the study is complete toward the end of this year.
Ai-enabled formulation development enhances Quotient Sciences' existing Translational Pharmaceutics® platform, which integrates drug product development, manufacturing and clinical testing. The AI-enhanced formulation development solution supports model-informed drug development by generating a digital twin that links formulation composition to in vitro performance and human pharmacokinetics.
